At least 144 people are reported to have been killed in the earthquake that struck Myanmar on Friday .

The disaster could not have come at a worse time for Myanmar ’s people.

More than 18 million already either displaced or facing hunger, according to the UN .

In Rakhine state, 2 million people are at risk from famine, with the junta accused of inflicting collective punishment’ on them.
