Dear Care and Feeding : We have a 2-year-old daughter and have had in-laws and their family visiting for the last two weeks .

The kids love being together (until they don’t, but such is life with toddlers) Part of it is parenting differences: We are big on structure and schedules but more relaxed with (appropriate amounts of) screen time and allowing our daughter to have desserts with the rest of the family after dinner.

Dear Care and Feeding: Give yourself a break about the differing parenting styles.

Find some activities outside the house in which everyone, or small groups of people, can engage.

Hire a babysitter and give the four adults a night out.

If you’re fine with a little screen time, do it.

Teenager admitted he’d drank and needed a ride home, which I praised.

His parents found a Solo cup that smelled of alcohol in Leo ’s car.

He said he didn’t know his friends had alcohol, but admitted that they had driven to a gas station so a friend could buy vapes.
