Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, Trump's nominee for NIH director, still disagrees on COVID-19 response

Dr. Jay Bhattacharya is President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for the directorship of the National Institutes of Health .

Andrew Noymer says he disagreed with Jay on COVID-19 response during pandemic.

He says the NIH has not acted with enough transparency on the origins of SARS-CoV-2 , which killed 15 million people worldwide.

Andrew Noymer : NIH should give full account of its involvement in bat viruses that are the ancestor of the COVID-19 virus.

He says transparency is a principal (and principled) solution to lack of public trust in institutions.

He is confident that Jay Bhattacharya’s pursuit of transparency can restore public trust, he says.
