Sugar Bowl game opens with moment of silence for victims of New Orleans terror attack

Georgia Bulldogs and Notre Dame Fighting Irish players bowed their heads for the victims of the terror attack in New Orleans on New Year's Day .

15 people were killed and dozens more wounded after a terrorist with an ISIS flag drove a truck through a crowded Bourbon Street in the city on Wednesday .

Before the game, Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry said that he’s “convinced” New Orleans is “safe” following the terrorist attack.
