Nancy Mace wants the first openly trans member of Congress barred from the women's bathroom

Rep. Nancy Mace introduced a resolution seeking to bar transgender members and employees from using the bathrooms that correspond to their gender identity in the Capitol building.

The resolution alleges that allowing trans women to use women’s bathrooms “jeopardizes the safety and dignity” of cisgender women.

It comes just weeks after Rep.-elect Sarah McBride (D-Del.) became the first openly transgender person to serve in Congress .
