Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital pool closure prompts a father's push to save it

67% Informative
Alberta Health Services has closed the pool at Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital in Edmonton .
Myah Brandsma , 14 , lost mobility following an immunization shot at school on Jan. 29 .
Her father, Richard , has been vocal about the need for the pool to remain operational.
AHS said the pool was closed due to structural issues that required repairs.
Brandsma acknowledges that fixing the pool may not happen overnight, but he hopes efforts can begin to bring it back for future patients.
Brandsma also believes that the provincial government should step in and help fund the restoration of the pool, noting it’s “a valuable part of Alberta Health ”.
