Robin Pingeton , 56 , was hired as the ninth women's basketball coach in Wisconsin history.

Pingeton comes to Wisconsin with a 585- 375 record in 30 seasons as a head coach.

In-state recruiting will be key, Pingeton says.

The Badgers have six players on this year ’s roster still projected to return next season plus two incoming recruits.

Despite the struggles of recent years she said on more than on occasion that Wisconsin will be getting the best version of herself. She explained. “I think experience is the best teacher. And I think as you go through the journey of life, if you've got a mindset that you can learn and grow and adjust and everything that happens to you is in your best interest (then) I think you got a chance to really do some special things. I'll be reliant of the last 25-30 years of coaching at all my stops, and I think it prepared me for this moment.”.
