US President Donald Trump said he would impose a 25% tariff on all steel imports from 12 March .

Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds has launched a consultation on the government's Plan for Steel .

The government has committed to providing up to 2.5bn in support for the steel industry.

It hopes to protect UK steel from "unfair trading practices abroad", including cheap imports.

Stace added a robust strategy "has the power to reverse the sector's decline, particularly as we face increasing competition from imports benefiting from more favourable business conditions".
