Canadian researchers who rely on U.S. medical grants say some projects at risk even as funding resumes

U.S. President Donald Trump ordered the National Institutes of Health ( NIH ) to pause reviewing proposals for funding research projects.
Last month , the agency was ordered to cancel the agency's January schedule.
Last year , over $40 million of NIH funding went towards Canadian projects.
Canadian doctors and researchers say they're still eager to see what research projects will get funded.
"I think we need to be very concerned and we have to also ensure that we are staying vigilant here in Canada and in other contexts so that we can protect independent research," Sriram said.
