A notice posted on the door of the Herb Jamieson shelter in central Edmonton said it will no longer be open during the day .

The men's emergency shelter has a capacity of over 400 people and is supposed to operate 24/7 .

A spokesperson for the Hope Mission said the shelter is not closing completely during day, but rather the space has been converted to offer more services.
