Raw milk refers to the milk of an animal that has not been pasteurized.
There are no benefits, according to the FDA , which says pasteurization does not reduce the nutritional value.
Raw Milk Institute CEO Mark McAfee says bioactives are destroyed in pasteurization.
But the CDC is firm in its stance: “Pasteurized milk offers the same nutritional benefits without the risks of raw milk consumption” McAfee believes the controversy has been stirred up by the powerful American (pasteurized) dairy industry.
