Alberta NDP Leader Naheed Nenshi was one of the last major provincial leaders in Canada to support a carbon tax.

In a year-end interview, he says he sees the carbon tax issue unfolding whether the Trudeau Liberals or the Poilievre Conservatives win the coming federal election.

He says the federal Liberals have so botched the consumer carbon tax that there’s no public support for one in Alberta .

He insists Alberta must meet its climate reduction targets and export natural gas to displace coal.
