Ottawa has a big decision to make that could come any day now.

It will have a direct impact on the 72 critically endangered southern resident orcas .

The population has reached its lowest number in 30 years , following the massive losses last month of L-128 , the newest calf, and K-26 , a 31-year-old male.

The federal government refused such an order six years ago under the Species at Risk Act .

We’re counting on the federal cabinet to make the right decision for the struggling 72 southern resident killer whales, as well as for the entire Salish Sea ecosystem.
