The space race has arrived in Texas , and under the leadership of Elon Musk , it's looking like the aerospace industry will be the next big boom in this state.

SpaceX is not only building and launching the most powerful rocket in the world from their star base in South Texas , but they're setting the groundwork for a multibillion dollar industry that will employ Texans for generations to come.

New facility is only about 10% taller, but will be substantially wider and deeper, allowing for between 4:00 and 8:00 Starships or boosters to be constructed at once.

This new wide Bay could lead to the first Starship assembly line.

New factory will exclusively manufacture the second generation of Raptor engine.

This is a completely new design from the Merlin engine that SpaceX uses in the Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy rockets.

There are already positive signs of economic growth directly related to the company's expansion in the city of Brownsville , Texas .

According to the local officials, as of late 2020 , SpaceX has created 1600 new jobs in construction, clerical and other fields, most of them given to local residents.

The Brownsville South Padre Island Airport is currently making efforts to establish an aerospace business park around the existing airport facility.
