•'Preserving hope': Fertility preservation program keeps doors open for young cancer patients

Ovarian Tissue Cryopreservation (OTC) helps young patients facing cancer treatments such as chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
For the first time, prepubertal patients with ovaries have an option to preserve their fertility ahead of undergoing cancer treatment.
The program transitioned from experimental phase to clinical procedure in 2020 .
So far, the program has harvested tissue from 15 patients.
