Explosion, fire rip through Mahogany townhouse complex

Firefighters battled a blaze touched off by an explosion at a townhouse complex in the southeast community of Mahogany Thursday afternoon . Crews responded to reports of the explosion and blaze in the 200 block of Mahogany Gardens S.E. where they found the end of a row of townhouses badly damaged and on fire. There were no reports of serious injuries from the incident. No cause for the explosion has been given but in announcing road closures in the area, city police said the natural gas supply to 400 to 500 nearby homes had been shut off. More to come..
