A Russia vetoed a UN resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Sudan and the delivery of humanitarian aid to millions of people there.
Sudan plunged into a devastating conflict in April last year when long simmering tensions between the military and a militia erupted.
The fighting has killed at least 61,000 people, although the true toll is thought to be far higher.
