•'We're well behind': Old Fort Calgary exhibits to be overhauled for first time in nearly 30 years
57% Informative
Exhibits built in the mid-1990s will be dismantled to make room for a new 900-square-foot exhibit about Blackfoot culture and history called Ki’pait’apiiiiyssinnooni , which translates to Our Way of Life .
This will be the second overhaul at the museum in its 47-year history.
The Confluence president Jennifer Thompson says plans have been in place “for a long time” to make the museum’s offerings more accurately reflect the people who lived on the land at the site before Fort Calgary .
“I’m very excited to showcase (the Blackfoot ) community, and to finally have the truth really shown at the Confluence.” The Confluence is open Friday to Sunday , from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. — With files from Scott Strasser .
