•A day inside the Reform UK machine set to be a political force in Wales
65% Informative
Reform’s support is growing and it's not just the number but the range of people there is broadening.
The party fully expect to be sending politicians to the Senedd when the newly-expanded institution opens its doors after the May 2026 ballot.
People had taken days off work to be here in their hundreds at the Celtic Manor in Newport .
Welsh Labour will have its (delayed) conference in Llandudno next week when delegates will spend hours debating and voting policy positions in a process few really understand.
When Labour meet it won't have the feel of this when it meets with Reform delegates.
English voters who had come along were there for Farage.
Some were long-time allies and supporters in Union Jack -themed outfits.
Farage pleaded "give us time" but said from 2026 as party leader Wales will be his priority.
Right now this is not a conventional party but a simple limited company in which Farage owns more than half of the shares.
He has learnt his lesson from the general election, he says, and there will be vetted candidates who will, he tells me, be of a higher calibre.
