Vice President Kamala Harris opened the last week sprint of her presidential campaign with a drop-in rally with a few thousand enthusiastic friends in Harrisburg .
The Vice President was finally here after four trips by former president Donald J. Trump .
The visit gave midstate Democrats some oxygen as they pursue their mission of lowering the margin of Trump ’s expected victory in what is the third -largest bloc of voters in this critical swing state.
Pennsylvania is the largest of the seven swing states whose Electoral College votes are widely expected to decide a presidential race that enters its last week as a virtual dead heat.
Harris : 'I pledge to be a president for all Americans , and to always put country above party and self' She also spoke about expanding Medicare to cover the costs of in-home attendant care for senior citizens hoping to stay in their own homes.
The rally was interrupted by protestors several times, including what appeared to be Trump supporters.
By 5:30 p.m. , the Harris show was wheels up at HIA and moving on to another swing state state capitol, Madison , Wisc., for a primetime rally.
Cumberland County Chair Roan : “It’s like a pep rally. And this is getting them enthused and ready to run through the tape”.
