Former professional and all-star Canadian university footballer, Alix Bruch , has been named sporting director for Calgary 's first women’s pro sports team.

Kelly Mannix will be tasked with taking the Wild FC brand from its infancy and shaping it into one that is bold, brave and connected with all Albertans .

Mannix has been a key figurehead in making the dream of professional women's soccer a reality.

In addition to naming Lara Murphy as the chief executive officer of Calgary ’s first women’s pro sports team last week , Lisa Oldridge was also announced as the chief financial and operating officer. Two days later , Afghan-Canadian professional footballer, Farkhunda Muhtaj , was officially welcomed as the first player named to the Calgary Wild FC roster, while Calgary -born NHLer , Josh Morrissey ( Winnipeg Jets ), was announced as part of a growing ownership group backing the club. The Northern Super League is scheduled to begin its first season this spring ..
