With less than two weeks to go before this year ’s vote, Michigan is down to a statistical coin toss.

Voting for Kamala Harris now carries the same stigma voting for Trump did in 2016 .

Trump, who took Michigan in 2016 by just 10,000 votes, has sought to capitalise on discontent.

He has already won the endorsement of Amer Ghalib , the mayor of the Detroit suburb of Hamtramck .

Trump has left much of the outreach to Massad Boulos , a Lebanese -American businessman whose son is married to Trump ’s daughter Tiffany .

“No one needs to explain to me — a hijab-wearing Arab woman — what we lose under a Trump presidency,” she said, dabbing away a tear that had run through her mascara. “People are desperate, truly, truly desperate.”.
