A roster revamp and Kawhi-esque rest: How Philly plans to get Embiid to the Finals

Joel Embiid signed a three-year contract extension with the Philadelphia 76ers .

Paul George signed a four-year maximum deal with the 76ers in free agency.

Tyrese Maxey , Kelly Oubre Jr. and Kyle Lowry re-signed, and Caleb Martin , Eric Gordon and Andre Drummond were brought in.

The 76ers appear to have ramped up their plan to keep the star center healthy.

Joel Embiid will continue to wear a brace on the left knee he injured in January .

The 76ers have been at least 10 points per 100 possessions better with the center on the court than when he sits.

Philadelphia has tried to get back with Drummond since trading him in the Harden trade two years ago .

The team has signed four players, including George, Oubre , Gordon and Lowry.

Embiid : "We've got a pretty good amount of talent, but you've still got to go out and figure out how to do it" Maxey : "The names on the sheet look really good, but this isn't 2K. It's not fantasy basketball. If we get the pieces to fit together, then we play extremely hard," he says.
