A new Angus Reid poll found only 21% of Canadian adults younger than 50 say they are definitely going to have at least one child.

Half say they have delayed having kids longer than they wanted and that feeling rises to 74% among those 35 to 44 years old .

The top reasons driving child-rearing delays include not finding the right partner ( 40% ), financial and job market uncertainty ( 41% ), childcare costs ( 33% ) and housing affordability ( 31% ).
