Former President Donald Trump is returning to the site of his first assassination attempt.
The former president was shot in the ear in July during a rally in Butler , Pennsylvania .
Trump said he had an "obligation to go back to Butler " The family of the man who was killed at the rally will be in attendance.
Many of the former president's more ardent supporters have shied away from continuing to attend his rallies.
"It's kind of like -- it almost brings back memories, because it's almost kind of the same set up," said one Butler rally attendee.
"To be honest with you, this is one of the safest places to be," Susan Gibala said.
