A Crumbl Cookie pop-up in Sydney , Australia has gone viral after customers discovered it had no actual affiliation with the U.S. bakery.
Pop-up had not been officially authorised, and in fact had no connection to the bakery.
Instead, some aspiring entrepreneurs had travelled to the US to buy a ridiculous number of the cookies and resell them to Australians at a significant markup.
The backlash was swift and furious, with some calling it a scam.
Crumbl Sydney pop-up went viral on TikTok and went viral.
Organisers claim they were trying to make a profit out of selling the cookies for $ AU17.50 .
