Calgary police commission wants to use unallocated CSIF funds to pay for a new shooting range.
CSIF is a joint funding framework between the city, CPS and various community partners.
The funding would cover the increased costs needed to build a new indoor firearms range for police officers and recruits.
The current range, built in 2000 , is past its life cycle and presents occupational health and safety concerns, says police commission chair.
