More than 32,000 suspected mpox cases in Africa , with more than 28,000 in the Central Africa region.
Death toll from the outbreak has now reached 840 since the beginning of the year , Africa CDC officials said.
More than $800 million ( 718 million ) has been pledged for mpox response.
Germany will donate 100,000 doses of mpox vaccine to Congo and other African nations to help contain the outbreak.
People can become infected by coming into close contact with people who have the virus — through skin-to-skin contact during kissing, hugging, sex and massages. The infection causes a pus-filled skin rash lasting up to four weeks , which can be very painful. Edited by: Keith Walker .
