The Blood Tribe’s chief and council say they will file a formal complaint against three Calgary police officers involved in the death of 42-year-old Jon Wells .
The statement comes after an investigation by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team described a brutal encounter between Wells and the officers right before his death.
The report described Wells , who was unarmed, acting in a confused fashion and appearing as if he were trying to pick up items from the floor that didn’t exist.
Wells was left face down in handcuffs, leg restraints and a spit mask for seven minutes before EMS arrived.
