•A fifth of the fish you eat is likely mislabelled: study
69% Informative
One in five seafood products in Calgary are mislabelled, misleading the consumer about the kind of fish they're eating.
The study was conducted by Ambrose University in partnership with the University of Calgary and Mount Royal University .
The most common example of mislabelling was tilapia being sold as red snapper.
The problem is n’t Canadian but international, says lead researcher Matthew Morris .
Morris also suggests buyers look for specific labels, such as sockeye or Atlantic salmon, instead of “tuna”, “salmon,” or “fish and chips.” - Food rescue app expands network of stores to Western Canada - ' Guess what folks? Food isn't getting any cheaper': Inflation, sadly, is nothing new.
