A new report shows that EV owners in Silicon Valley , and Tesla 's former hometown, are turning away from the brand in droves.
In Santa Clara County , which includes cities like Cupertino , Mountain View and Palo Alto , registrations of Teslas dropped 22% in the first half of this year compared to 2023 , while during the same period, registrations for its competition grew 41% .
Tesla 's lost grip on Silicon Valley can also be attributed to Musk 's political differences with its buyer base.
