Battletech is a great example of one of the lost pleasures of retro gaming.
A modern PC port of something will run at a higher resolution and a smoother framerate than its console counterparts.
But the underlying hardware's too similar these days for a game to truly transform to embody the spirit of whatever box it finds itself on.
