66% Informative
Texas Rep. Mike McCaul released a 600 -page report on Afghanistan withdrawal.
The report found that Biden was not bound by the Doha agreement in which the U.S. agreed to pull out of Afghanistan in 2021 .
It also found that the State Department had no plan for getting Americans and allies out while there were still troops there to protect them.
The U.S. government had "no idea if people being evacuated were threats," one State Department employee told the committee.
The Taliban likely gained access to up to $57 million in funds that were initially given to the Afghan government.
After the final troops left Afghanistan , volunteer groups helped at least 314 American citizens and 266 lawful permanent residents evacuate the country.
ISIS-K terror cell that conducted the Abbey Gate attack "established a base of operations".
