•Blake Lively: Domestic violence victims criticise film promotion
63% Informative
US woman Ashley Paige launched a blistering attack on Blake Lively for promoting her latest film, It Ends With Us .
The film is an adaptation of Colleen Hoover's best-selling novel about a woman experiencing domestic abuse.
Critics say it's been promoted like a romance film, that its one-minute trailer doesn't adequately disclose the abuse storyline.
US trauma therapist Maddie Spear also shared a video explaining why Lively's rhetoric was troubling to some.
Video edits have proliferated of Lively ’s blithe responses to questions about her character.
During the press tour, the actor has also promoted her multiple off-screen businesses.
Her drinks business Betty Booze has promoted cocktail recipes inspired by the film's characters.
Ms Paige says the worst failing of the film is its marketing, which she characterises as misleading.
