•Biden's immigration plan for undocumented spouses could transform lives — and the 2024 election
76% Informative
A new Biden administration program allows undocumented spouses of American citizens to apply to regularize their status without leaving the U.S. The White House estimates the program applies to 500,000 immigrants across the country.
Those whose applications are approved will be granted a form of legal relief known as “parole in place,” which protects them from deportation.
Some 60,000 immigrants eligible for parole in place live in swing states, according to the estimates from FWD.us.
The program was instituted by way of executive action from the president, which makes it inherently precarious.
Republicans have strongly condemned the program, with Trump calling it “mass amnesty” and “outrageous”.
